Here are a few of my favorite things

For the first 2 months or so we used a combination of Newborn kissaluvs and disposables. These are fitted diapers, and are great for tiny babies and have a fold down for the belly button. The covers we used were the fitted Thirsties diaper covers. Around 3 months we used one size Bumgenius diapers and the newborn fitted diapers.

Now that our baby is bigger we mainly use one size Bumgenius diapers and fitted Kissaluvs with Thirsties diaper covers.

At night time we add a Hemp Babies liner to the pocket of the Bumgenius. In the Kissaluvs I put the hemp and a Kissaluv doubler on top. I just think the hemp is scratchy.

As far as detergent we use bumgenius detergent, I bought a case and it looks like each individual box lasts about 2 1/2 months. So buy once, it's easier. I got my diaper pail from Kelly's Closet, and like it a lot. We've been using Planet Wise diaper pail liners and wet bags. Great buy too, however I've been bleaching them with the Bumgenius diapers and one of the pail liners leaked and got pee on my hands as I dumped the laundry into the washer. Yuck, guess I'll have to buy a new one, darn ;)

I order everything I can from CottonBabies. They have free shipping, and they have been good for when I needed refunds and questions in customer service.

Since I wrote this post I've changed up a few things :)
I discovered FuzziBunz one size diapers. They are a pocket diaper, that adjusts in several different ways. It's hard to describe so I'll post pictures when I have a little more time. They have wonderful colors. I have one red one, so cute. The month of September they are running a promo where you get 8 diapers for the price of 6!!!! I'm saving to get a couple more red, and their purple color (the perfect TCU color!!!!!).

In the past few weeks Baby B is drinking TONS, we've not had any luck with cloth or regular disposables for overnight. I got Pampers Overnight diapers super cheap (major couponing at work here) they have been really good for us. At one disposable a day I can live with that.

Start your own addiction!!

A quick post on what you'll need ("need" is a relative term of course! )
  1. 12 newborn diapers, 4ish covers (Really we could have used more, and I might get more for our next baby, but this cut down on disposables for the first 3 months)
  2. 24 one size diapers
  3. 6 fitted diapers, 2 covers
  4. 2 swim diapers
  5. diaper sprayer
  6. diaper pail
  7. 2 diaper bags for pail
  8. 2 wet bags for diaper bag/church/day school
  9. wipes warmer
  10. cloth wipes (Get as many as you can get your hands on, they seem to disappear like socks. We use flannel and cheap baby wash clothes from box stores)
  11. cloth diaper friendly detergent
